The Retreat at Artesian Lakes offers many nature focused outdoor activities.

Available in most of our lakes; please respect posted signs.  Bait and limited fishing supplies are available for purchase at the Store in The Hospitality House.  Bass is strictly catch-and-release.

Blue Gill Pond, located next to The Stables is ideal for children, who are “almost guaranteed” to catch fish.

Trout Fishing

Hiking

We have miles of hiking trails, but you can enjoy long, safe walks everywhere throughout the resort.  There is much to discover and watch on each walk.

Swimming

This is what summer and The Retreat at Artesian Lakes are all about!!!  Take turns coming down the giant slides at the artesian-fed Swim Lake or enjoy the salt-water swimming pool.  The swim area also features a 12-person hot tub, a bath house, a roof-top sunning deck, a shaded sand terrace, gazebo, picnic tables, a fire ring, and The Grille.

Wildlife

The Hilltop Deck is the ideal place to view our giant, ancient Alligator Turtles.  Alligators, squirrels, raccoons, and a wide variety of birds are highly visible at most locations and at most times but night time and dawn are ideal for spotting rabbits, deer, armadillos, possum, fireflies, and owls….and to listen to frog concerts!
